Spring Registration 2021

Dear Parents & Players,

On behalf of the Dublin Little League Board of Directors, we are very excited to announce the opening of registration for the 2022 Dublin Little League Spring Season. We are excited for the new season to begin with an expectation to continue to build upon the great foundation that has been set by all those who have worked tirelessly to make Dublin Little League great.

I am excited to announce a few additions and changes that we have made which I think will benefit our league and will make our members happy.

First and foremost…

Softball is back in Dublin! Dublin Little League is excited to bring a premier youth softball experience back to our city. Little League Softball strengthens self-esteem and confidence, promotes teamwork and sportsmanship, and develops on-field fundamentals while providing a competitive outlet for girls to compete with their friends. Minors divisions compete within Dublin, with older divisions also competing against neighboring communities. Similar to baseball, the Majors, Juniors, and Seniors divisions culminate their seasons at Softball State or even World Series tournaments for the chance to represent their community at the highest levels.

The DLL Softball program is open to girls ages 4 to 16 living within the boundaries for DLL and District 57; Dublin, Pleasanton, San Ramon…come check it out! Registration is now open for the Spring Season at www.dublinll.org. Skills clinics, evaluations, and player placement will occur in early 2022. For more information or questions about the program, contact Jean Toler at [email protected].

Fees

Despite rising costs, we did our best to keep fees very similar to past years. We still are happy to have some of the lowest fees in the district. This year the customization of the jerseys and hat will be included in registration.

Part of us being able to keep fees low is through our sponsors (so please support them) and having our families participate in our few fundraisers throughout the year. Similar to last year we will have the annual Jamboree and Home Run Derby and our adult-only poker tournament returns on March 26! Tickets for poker night will be on sale SOON! Our inaugural season yearbook can be added to registration. It is $15 and will include team pictures and great offers from our sponsors.

Hours and Deposit

One of the goals of our DLL Board is to encourage participation in Little League Baseball and Softball through volunteer support. We are a 100% volunteer-led organization and our league could not run without the support of our amazing little league families.

Due to the recent struggle to recruit volunteers, the board has unanimously voted to reintroduce the volunteer deposit. In Spring of 2022, there will be a $100 volunteer fee per family. We need all the help we can get. Our aim is not to make a dime from this fee. We would absolutely LOVE to give all of this money back to our families. WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Here are ways you can volunteer with our league (and earn your volunteer refund).

For teams in Divisions A and above (7 total reimbursements):

  • Manager
  • Coach (x2)
  • Field Prep (x2)
  • Team Parent
  • Scorekeeper

For Rookie and T-Ball (6 total Reimbursements):

If you do not fulfill your volunteer time at the team level there are many other opportunities for you to help the league!

  • Snack Bar
  • Tryouts/Clinics
  • Jamboree
  • Picture Day
  • Home Run Derby
  • Post-season tournaments

Evaluations

Evaluations for 13-14 year olds in the upper divisions will be held in November, we will send out that information individually. Evaluations for 8-12 year olds will be held on December 4th and 5th. If it rains, evaluations will be the following weekend, December 11th and 12th. Your player must be registered and the registration fee paid in order to be evaluated and eligible for the draft or team selection. I am sorry, but no exceptions will be made. Players who have registered and who have paid will receive more information regarding player evaluations during the week of evaluations. We will be holding safety evaluations for Single A on January 22nd.

Merchandise

Our winter shop is open in response to the high-demand black and green shamrock cap. We have made that hat available to order for the many that missed it early this fall. We also have a fun design to add in our soft and cozy sweatshirts and tees. Lastly, our Feeling Lucky black and white cap is of course done in everyone’s favorite puff embroidery shamrock. The shop is only open until November 1st so make sure to get your orders in.

We look forward to seeing each of you on the fields for an exciting season of baseball. If you have any questions, please reach out to me at [email protected] or any of our Board of Directors.

Best,
Jimmy Dilks
