On May 1st, we will be hosting the first round of the Dublin Little League Home Run Derby to help our league raise the money it needs to support our young athletes. We hope all players will participate, you do not have to fundraiser to participate in the first round! This event is open to all DLL players Tee-Ball to Intermediates. 

The success of this event relies on each player reaching out to their network of friends and family to solicit donations made through the DLL Givebutter website. we are trying to avoid cash and checks this year to limit health exposures. 
Our goal this year is to raise money to support the leagues ability to maintain the fields and limit the disruptions of games throughout the season. This creates a goal for each player to raise $25.00. The team who fundraises the most collectively as of May 1st, will win an ice cream party. The player who fundraises the most by May 1st will win a $100 VISA gift card!

The final round for the Home Run Derby will be held later in May, at Fallon Sports Park. Additional information on the Home Run Derby Finals will be announced by May 5th, including the winners from each team that will advance to the finals. DLL hope to be hosting a movie night following the award ceremony that is open to everyone pending county guidelines. 

Home Run Derby Details: 

Players will have 60 seconds to hit as many home runs as possible. Advancing to the finals requires meeting the player fundraising minimum by 5/1/2021. 

Players must use a little league approved bat. 

Two players from each team, who hit the most home runs and who reached their fundraising goal, will advance to the finals to battle against all teams top players in their division. Additional if you make it into the top 5 for your division you will advance as well. 

Tee-Ball & Rookie: will hit off the tee, a home run is 50* feet from home plate. (distance is where the ball stops moving) 

Single A & AA: will have coach pitch, a home run is 75* feet from home plate. (distance is where the ball first hits the ground)

AAA and Majors: will hit from the pitching machine or coach pitch, a home run is 120* feet from home plate. (distance is where the ball first hits the ground)

*Intermediate:  will hit from the pitching machine or coach pitch, a home run is 150* feet from home plate. (distance is where the ball first hits the ground)
